*** PROFFERED PAPERS ***
Accepted abstracts will qualify for either oral presentation or poster presentation. They will be published in the abstract book, which will be a supplement to the journal “Radiotherapy and Oncology”. By submitting an abstract, you are automatically applying for the “ESTRO-Nucletron Brachytherapy Award”. Since the selection of the winner will be based only on the data provided in the abstract (and not on the presentation) it is advisable to draft your abstract with extreme care providing sufficient data for the evaluation by the jury (see below).
*** BEST POSTER AWARD ***
Since only a limited number of abstracts can be accepted for oral presentations in order to allow sufficient discussion time, poster presentations will be an important feature of this meeting. To encourage quality presentations, a “Best Poster Award” competition has been established. The criteria for selection are, in decreasing order of importance, the scientific value of the data, the clarity of their presentation and the visual quality of the layout. The award will be a 350.00 € travel grant for a future ESTRO activity. The winner of the Best Poster Award will be announced at the Poster Reception on Monday, 9 May 2011.
*** ESTRO - NUCLETRON BRACHYTHERAPY AWARD ***
Abstracts accepted for oral or poster presentation at this meeting automatically participate in the competition for the ESTRO-Nucletron Brachytherapy Award. The winning abstract will be selected by the Scientific Committee on the basis of the containing data. The award will be given to the most innovative paper submitted for presentation at the GEC-ESTRO Conference. The award amounts to 1,700.00 €.
*** PRIZE FOR THE BEST JUNIOR PRESENTATION ***
Applicants should be junior members of the society, and along with the abstract, they should add a covering letter from the head of department stating that the work has been done by the Junior Applicant. The prize will be a 350.00 € Nucletron travel grant for a future ESTRO activity or the equivalent paid in cash.
It is not necessary to apply for the Best Poster Award, the ESTRO -Nucletron Brachytherapy Award or the Best Junior Presentation Award.
*** TRAVEL GRANTS ***
Junior ESTRO members who need support to attend the meeting may apply for “Junior Brachytherapy Travel Grants” sponsored by Nucletron. Ten grants of 600 Euro are available. To apply for travel grant, please send letter indicating the reasons why you should be considered for this grant to the address below. Please indicate your full name, age and ESTRO membership number with your letter.
