ESTRO ANNIVERSARY BOOK 

ESTRO has created a book celebrating the first thirty years and some of the founding fathers took part in the task force for its development. 

 This unique record of the development of ESTRO will be published in time for the 30th Anniversary celebration in London, when all delegates will receive a copy.

The history of ESTRO - from the initial vision of the founders, through the first priorities and achievements leading on to the educational programmes and the introduction of the Green Journal - will all be captured in this fascinating book.

Throughout its 30 years, ESTRO has focused on the dissemination of science in all branches of the multidisciplinary specialty of radiation oncology.  The book will review this from the perspective of the radiation oncologist, physicist, radiobiologist and RTT. The book will also look at how ESTRO has built strong relationships with the national societies and specialist groups within oncology and how it has more recently extended its reach outside Europe and taken particular strides to involve young members of the professions who are the future of the Society.

None of this could have been achieved without the dedication of a large number of interested and pioneering members who wanted to nurture and grow ESTRO for the benefit of their colleagues and patients.  The Anniversary Book will pay tribute to these individuals and record the names of the office holders and staff over the first 30 years.
