European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology ESTRO Logo
ESTRO conference

In this framework, ESTRO 29 will have an outstanding scientific programme that will offer the most relevant and cutting edge science and education in radiation oncology, radiation biology, radiation physics and technology. In short, the framework of ESTRO 29 will continue with the good tradition of several parallel tracks that reflect the multiple disciplines and groups in our Society. Each track will start with state-of-the-art teaching lectures in the morning that will be covering a wide range of highly relevant topics. Symposia and proffered paper sessions in the morning and afternoon will give first hand information on new developments. Various joint sessions are organized and will serve as a platform for multidisciplinary discussions. Don’t miss the debates on timely but controversial topics! Furthermore, a Presidential symposium, as well as highlights of clinical randomized trials and award sessions, is imbedded in the scientific programme. ESTRO 29 will also include a large poster exhibition and a poster reception. During the whole congress poster viewing is also facilitated through a special electronic viewing service. Previous ESTRO conferences have recognized the need to enthuse young scientists in the various fields of radiation oncology. ESTRO 29 will continue with this important challenge and offer an additional Young Scientists Track on one day. On the Sunday morning preceding the Congress, pre-conference activities on clinical radiation oncology, radiation biology, radiation physics and technology will be organized as well.

We hope that the rich and challenging scientific programme will convince you to attend ESTRO 29. It gives you not only the opportunity to meet your colleagues but also the industry. All of the leading exhibitors will contribute to Europe’s largest industrial exhibition in radiation oncology, offering the opportunity to view the latest products and services in cancer treatment and cancer care.

A conference which does not give its participants time for relaxing cannot be successful. The architecturally exciting city of Barcelona, Spanish cuisine and wine offer many opportunities to relax after a fruitful day. We are looking forward, together with the National Organizing Committee, to welcoming you in September 2010.
As chairmen of the programme committee, we encourage you to mark 12th – 16th September 2010 in your agenda since ESTRO 29, is the most important event in our field, and a conference that you would not like to miss.

Yours Sincerely,

Jean Bourhis
& Dietmar Georg
Chairpersons of the Scientific Programme Committee
